Use the % prefix or suffix in a browse field for simplified searches

Did you know that you can use the % prefix or suffix in a browse field for simplified searches in Infor VISUAL?

Let’s assume that your customer orders have a prefix of CO- and you want to display the customer order CO-0041281 without having to enter the full CO ID.

1) Make sure ‘Auto browse enabled’ is checked in the Browse Option’s menu

2) In COE, enter the characters %1281.

3) If there is more than one match, a list of COs will appear. Double click the Order ID from the list to display.

4) If there is only one match, the CO will display.

Use the ‘%’ as a suffix in a browse field.

1) Using the same CO # above, enter the characters CO-4%

2) If there is more than one match, a list of COs will appear. Double click the Order ID from the list to display.

3) If there is only one match, the CO will display.

This feature also works in other Infor VISUAL module browse fields, ie…Part Maintenance, Purchase Order Entry, Mfg Window and others.
