My organization is too small for ERP.
This is a myth! ERP software is being deployed more and more in small and midmarket companies across a large range of industries. These smaller organizations who have implemented ERP are reporting improvements across process management, organizational efficiency, and knowledge management capabilities- which, ultimately, leads to higher profits, reduced expenses, more efficient employees and more satisfied customers.
While many believe that ERP is not an option for small and mid-sized businesses, research has shown that a well-managed ERP implementation can be a continuing source of cost savings and operational improvements. Even small companies have been able to document the business benefits of ERP, not only in terms of quantifiable cost savings and schedule improvements, but also in terms of standardizing, streamlining, and accelerating business processes.
Furthermore, companies without ERP often underperform even the worst performers of those companies with ERP in terms of process, organizational, and knowledge management capabilities. ERP has become much more affordable in recent years, and if you expect your organization to grow as the economy turns around, an ERP system will help you to better prepare for and manage that growth.
